Best Rooftop Bars in Medellín: A Verified Guide to Sky-High Nightlife
Medellín’s rooftop scene is concentrated in El Poblado, with a few worthwhile outliers in Laureles and La Candelaria. Every venue below is listed with the building it sits on and the floor it occupies, so you can confirm you are in the right place before you get in a taxi.
A note on this guide: it was rebuilt in September 2026 after a check found several previously listed venues were not rooftop bars — some were ground-level cafés or restaurants, and two could not be found to exist at all. Only venues that verify as actual rooftops are listed here.

The highest: Envy Rooftop, The Charlee
Envy occupies the 17th and 18th floors of The Charlee Hotel in El Poblado and is the tallest rooftop bar on this list. It is arranged over two levels around an aquarium-style pool, with panoramic views across the Aburrá Valley, live music, and sushi from the hotel’s ONI Nikkei kitchen (Envy Rooftop; The Charlee Hotel).
It is the most expensive way to see the city from above, and the one most likely to have a dress code and a queue at weekends. Both the hotel and the rooftop are operating as of 2026.
Best for a neighbourhood evening: Panorama Rooftop Bar
Panorama is the rare rooftop that is not attached to a hotel, and the only one on this list with two locations:
- Laureles — Carrera 73 with Circular 3-8
- Provenza (El Poblado) — Calle 8 #34-33
It sits on the third floor with an open-air terrace, serving Latin American fusion plates alongside the bar menu, and opens early enough for breakfast and brunch as well as evening drinks (The Rooftop Guide; Eventario).
The Laureles location is the better choice if you want a rooftop without the Provenza crowds.
Away from El Poblado: Lienzo Rooftop, La Candelaria
Almost every rooftop in Medellín is in El Poblado. Lienzo Rooftop sits on the 5th floor of Hotel Gallery in La Candelaria, the city centre — a completely different view, over the historic downtown rather than the valley’s south end (The Rooftop Guide).
Also worth knowing
Two venues frequently described as rooftop bars are better understood on their own terms:
- 16 Sky Bar — Carrera 43 #9 sur-105, El Poblado. Opening hours run from 16:00, closing 22:00 Monday, 23:00 Tuesday–Wednesday, midnight Thursday–Saturday and 21:00 Sunday.
- Skybox Rooftop Sports Bar — Avenida 39d #74-46, 5th floor, Laureles. A sports bar rather than a cocktail rooftop (Tripadvisor).
Practical notes
- Check the floor before you go. Several well-known Medellín venues have terraces or second-floor patios that get described online as “rooftops”. The floor numbers in the table above are the quickest way to tell the difference.
- Weather beats scheduling. Medellín’s rain arrives fast and most of these terraces are open-air. An earlier evening in the dry hours is more reliable than a late booking.
- Reservations at weekends. The hotel rooftops in El Poblado — Envy in particular — fill on Friday and Saturday nights.
- Getting home. Use a booked ride rather than a street taxi late at night, and agree the fare or use the app price.
- Tipping. A service charge is often added to the bill in Colombia and you will usually be asked whether to include it.
Why this guide has no price list
An earlier version of this page carried a detailed table of cocktail, wine, beer and spirits prices in US dollars across three tiers of venue. None of it was sourced, and bar prices in Medellín move faster than any static guide can track — the metro fare alone rose 12.1% in January 2026.
Check the venue’s own current menu before you go. A price list that is quietly two years stale is worse than no price list.
